LEE PERMIT REPORT: February 2012

 

FORT MYERS, FLA. (March 1, 2012) – During February, contractors pulled 47 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at more than $13 million in unincorporated Lee County.  That compares to 20 permits issued in February 2011 and 35 issued in January.

Permits were issued for 10 multi-family units in February compared to four in February 2011 and four in January.

Permits for 14 new commercial structures were valued at more than $2.6 million in February.  In February 2011, commercial permits were valued at more than $38.9 million, including a $20 million, three-story office complex at Chico’s headquarters on Metro Parkway.  In January, commercial permits were valued at nearly $23.9 million.

During February, Lee County Community Development issued 2,672 permits of all kinds and issued 5,105 for the year to date. 

 

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
